General Description The Arena Motel is a friendly, family run motel that prides itself on providing their guests with the best in customer service teamed with modern, clean accommodation. It is the closest motel to the Christchurch Railway Station, only a 20 minute drive from the airport and an easy 20 min walk or five minute drive to the central city. Our location is an easy 10 minute walk to beautiful Hagley Park, and is is perfect for guests arriving or leaving Christchurch by train. We have a free shuttle to and from the scenic trains at the Christchurch railway station. Please dial 12 from the freephone when you arrive at the Christchurch Railway Station. We offer friendly, helpful service and modern, spacious units, all with cooking facilities and ensuites, plus guest laundry and cooked and continental breakfasts. As a Qualmark 4 Star motel, we aim to provide the best in service and comfort. We have four types of units available, ranging from access studios, studios, one bedroom and two bedroom units. Our one bedroom units also have spa baths. All our units are modern, spacious, clean and comfortable. Each has tflat screen television and DVD players, tea and coffee making facilities, full kitchen facilities including microwave, hot plates, fridge and toaster. All of our units have a fast secure broadband internet access point. Transportation We offer a free shuttle service to and from the Christchurch Railway Station for gthe scenic train services and we are an easy 20 minute walk from the city centre and Botanic Gardens. To get to the Arena Motel from the airport, you can come by taxi or by shuttle or you can drive down Memorial Avenue which becomes Fendalton Road and turn right into Straven Road and continue along that road until it becomes Whiteleigh Avenue. If you are driving from the south, drive in on the Main South Road and turn off the roundabout into Blenheim Road, turn right into Clarence Street which becomes Whiteleigh Avenue (we are about 100m along the road over the railway line. If you are driving into Christchurch from the north, drive down the Main North Road, which becomes Papanui Road and turn right into Blighs Road and stay on that road until you see the Motel on your left. The road changes name several times but it is a straight drive along that road until it becomes Whiteleigh Avenue. To get to the motel from the city centre, you can walk, drive or use a bus or taxi. Buses travel along Lincoln Road about every 10 minutes.
