General Description The Savoy, a Fairmont managed hotel, will reopen its doors in October 2010, following the most ambitious restoration in British history. The new interiors have been designed by world-renowned designer, Pierre Yves Rochon, combining the hotels-ns two main design aesthetics, Edwardian and Art Deco. The Savoys-ns reopening will reveal a number of notable highlights including the complete remodel of the legendary River Restaurant and the addition of the new Beaufort Bar, a glamorous Art Deco bar, and Savoy Tea, a bijou teashop selling Savoy tea, accessories and fresh patisserie. The hotel will offer 268 newly remodeled rooms and suites. The Superior rooms, with a choice of either a king or twin beds, are 35sqm in size and are suitable for either single or double occupancy. Decorated in either Edwardian or Art Deco style, they quietly overlook the courtyard or the city. These rooms feature a writing desk, armchair, personal bar, Loewe flat-screen television, Vita Audio iPod docking station and bespoke Savoy furnishings. Famous for their giant showerheads, the well-appointed marble bathrooms are finished with large chrome fittings and Miller Harris amenities.
